The Royal Automobile museum was established upon King Abdullah’s wishes.

King Hussein made his last tour through Amman in this car on his final return to Jordan from the Mayo Clinic in 1999. He died two weeks later. The car has not been driven since the king died.

The Jordanian royal family is unique in having a passion for cars.
HM King Abdullah II first participated in a Rally in 1984.
Jordan’s Al Hussein Rumman Hill Climb is one of the Middle East’s longest standing sporting events.
It has become a highlight on the Kingdom’s social and sporting calendar.
The late King Hussein competed on rallies, races and hill climbs. He won half of all the events.
He won his last race aged 61, three years before he died of cancer in 1999.
The late King Hussein established rallying in Jordan.The first rally was a scavenger hunt held in 1961.

The new state mosque was commissioned by King Abdullah II to commemorate his late father King Hussein of Jordan. It is the largest mosque in the Kingdom. Its architecture reflects the Umayyad style.
